Team Bai Cristobal Basketball Camp All Stars

by Bohol Chronicle

Team Bai Cristobal Basketball Camp All Stars “A” bowed down to defending champions Bohol Wisdom School Golden Dragons, 91-80 in a triple bill of the elimination round of the ongoing 17th BSAAA 2nd John Geesnell Baba Yap inter-School Hoop Cup at the IAE of EnScieMa hardcourt.

The Golden Dragons were overconfident as coach Jay Daganato, fielded in his mixed first stringer even as they could not leave behind the All Stars as Khan Morris “the Captain” Lim led his team to a tumultuous attack against the defending champions. He was joined by Eping Calipusan, Felix Galido and Jaye Libay in its effort to take control of the 1st half, 41-36.

Sensing that the Team Bai Cristobal All Stars are in serious business, Daganato went through with his formidable combination of first stringers but to no avail as Clifford Galido fought the opponents firing his arsenals and other artilleries with accurate precision to give the All Stars a hold of the upper hand, 58-54.

Amiel Seth Sacdalan, Benz Ephraim Lungay, Vincent Jay Eronico, and Tom Wesley Seroje were in full battle gear as they connived to ignite an assault of the Tagbilaran City Science High School Virus against the stubborn Bai Cristobal Basketball Camp All Stars “B” to erect a 7 point lead 41-34, at lemon time.

The Virus continued to play like a well oiled machine which caught the all stars “B” flatfooted and further committeed miscues to enable them to widen the gap in the 3rd canto, 61-46.

The final score 86-63.

But Feilbien Maurice Coquilla, James Kevin Mascariñas, Lindyl Binoya, spitfire Ven Excel Garrote, and slotman John Paul Romo conspired to stage a last ditch rally to overcome the deficit and furthermore put the Golden Dragons ahead, 91-80, as the buzzer sounded ending the regulation time.

In another game, the heavy favourite title contender Holy Spirit School led by the most improved Jeff Villaruel with 21 points walloped sophomore Internationale Academe of EnScieMa, 127-36.

The 17th BSAAA 2nd John Geesnell Baba Yap inter-School Hoop Cup is ably supported by Bohol Tropics Resort Club; First Consolidated Bank; Atty. Gamaliel Bonje; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hontanosas; Mr. and Mrs. Gerardo Bas Madanguit; Jocelyn Ortiz Chua; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bas Madanguit; Dr. Aurora Bas Madanguit; Benneto Daquipil; and Grandma’s Purified Water.
