“I LET THEM KNOW”: In his rookie year, Shawn Kemp played just 13.8 MPG. He was so frustrated, that after Sonics games, he’d go to local Seattle courts and dominate pickup games against fans to show them how good he was 😳
So many people came out to watch ‘The Reignman,’ that the city shut down streets and police had to control crowds. The SuperSonics then made him stop.
Kemp: “[Sonics] didn’t realize my drive. If they weren’t gonna let me play, I was gonna let the whole city see. Guys don’t have that type of dedication anymore.” 💪
