Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points and the New York Knicks downed Philadelphia 100-84 on Sunday, giving the Knicks a 2-0 start to an NBA season for the first time since 1999.
Two nights after ripping reigning NBA champion Miami in their season opener, the Knicks never trailed after the first quarter in dumping the 76ers.
J.R. Smith added 20 points and nine rebounds for New York while Jason Kidd contributed 12 points and six assists and Raymond Felton added 11 points for the Knicks.
