Joel Uichico: Nominee for the Sikatuna Award

The Sangguniang Bayan of Baclayon recently passed a resolution a resolution recommending Joel Uichico of Bezo Recreational and Aquatiic Activities of Bohol (Braabo) to be considered by the Office of the Governor as one of the nominees for the Sikatuna Award.

Initiated by Municipal Councilor Erico Joseph Cañete, the SB unanimously approved the resolution during its regular session on May 18.

The local officials of Baclayon described Uichico in the resolution as "a benevolent and respected person who is very famous for his numerous activities to preserve the marine and terrestrial environment".

Montaña Barangay Kagawad Neria Guingguing last week sponsored a resolution supporting the SB resolution.

The SB resolution cited Uichico's contribution to the progress of Baclayon by initiating various community development programs.

Uichico had organized cooperatives and extended financial assistance to the coop members to facilitate livelihood and economic upliftment.

As manager of Braabo, he introduced and discovered new dive sites, adventure trails, and heritage tour projects for the municipality of Baclayon and helped in the development of the tourism industry in the town, the SB resolution cited.

The local officials also expressed appreciation to Braabo through Uichico and Beatriz Susana Zobel de Ayala for the donation of a tourism activity center to the municipality which has been eyed to boost the tourism industry in the town.

do you think but-an ka nyor???? face in front of a mirror and ask your self first before you judge him (them), and see to it that you can prove to all of the people that he is really like that. He is a person who is deeply concern with our environment, our culture. He is a down to the earth kind of person. it just happened that there are a lot of people who always see negatives instead of what they had contribute to our culture and most especially our environment. And thats positive. Better watch your self by saying that and see to it that you can do better than they have done..
