I'm naturally a strong student in the hard sciences with almost perfect understanding in biology, chemistry, physics.
In mathematics, I'm pretty strong (a strong grip of theoretical calculus, linear algebra, statistics etc).

However, the subject that I find myself needing to 'study' in order to achieve an acceptable grade has always been: English

I took english in my sophomore year in college and the first paper I turned in was riddled with comments and corrections by Professor Helworth. I can strongly remember her saying, "I'm guessing your a Biology major?"

LoL

God Bless all the English and Literature majors out there!
You are truly gifted with the ability to write, and illustrate words.

I bow to you,

I hated trigonometry!  The talk of sin, consine, tangent makes me dizzy but I studied well to maintain my grades and got good grades but it was something I didn't remember after I passed the subject! ;D

haha, bitaw no? Oh man, 'te one subject that I did not like and regretted ever taking was Philosophy 134. I took it with a professor who was extremely one sided. It was one of those classes that you hated but had to take to fulfill a liberal arts requirement.

I can still remember him telling me in front of the class, "You, Mr. Lucino, are a traditional statist."

I wanted so bad to tell him (i bit my tongue forcefully), "You Professor, are a leftist communist!"

But alas,

Ngek!  That was not good of your prof to say you are statist!  Good thing you were able to stop yourself, Dong, but I bet it didn't feel good that you were not able to say something huh!

When I was in college, somebody asked me what was my favorite subject and I said, Law.  I thought I did good then I wasn't able to take exam because I had to go home to Bohol to attend my Grandpa's burial, I asked for a chance, the Prof just gave me a passing grade of 3.5.  I was dropped from the dean's list.  I was devastated but I would still chose to have that grade for as long as I was able to see my grandpa for the last time.

'te they say that the actions of people define them. I have even greater and deeper respect for you knowing what happened to you and that you chose your family over your exam. You are able to sacrifice what others cannot, 'te. You know that is very rare now-a-days. Your actions speak for you, 'te.

I offer you my endearing salute.

OT: The professor I had in philosophy 134 is the type that down-talks his students, 'te. The particular lecture we had was about American society and conservancy vs liberalism. He was attacking the pillars of conservatism such as family life, religious life, traditional morality etc. He attacked these pillars and called christianity as a "religious fantastical lie" to say the least. Very degrading. I was unable to sit myself and my soul forced me to stand up and argue with him in defense of conservative ideals.

If he expected me to crawl and beg to be a recluse, then dare say I disappointed him.  I was raised by a family and came from a region of the Philippines that did not just sit down but rose up to the occasion.

There are professors like that in college, 'te.

They abuse their tenure-ship. I know professors in the Biology department who had sexual relations with students in years past. I heard this not from students, but from assistant-professors and other Teacher's Assistants.
