All you need to do is go to Confession. The U.S. bishops have given the priests in our country permission to remove the excommunication when they give absolution to those who have had abortions. If you would feel better going to Confession anonymously at another parish, feel free to do so. Then you may receive Holy Communion. You are not obliged to tell anyone (other the the confessor) about your abortion . Welcome back. You are in our prayers.

Indeed it is forgivable if the mother observes the Sacrament of Reconciliation and makes penance for this SIN.
The Lord our God is Merciful and Forgiving...

In fact, all sins are forgivable, there is only 1 sin that is unforgivable, and that is the Blaspheming the Holy Spirit.


CCC 1864 "Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven." There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.

MOST sins are forgivable, however, there is one sin that is unforgivable. Jesus Christ warns us about this in Holy Scripture:

"Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,  but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
