I was torn in either proceeding with Engineering or Medicine. But I later chose Medicine.
My father approved of my decision. "We have too many engineers in our family."
He said something that inspired me, "In engineering, you build objects, structures, if it is weak, the engineer orders it to be torn down and rebuilt, or strengthened. If there is a lacking in metal pipes, you order more. If a company of construction workers are not doing their job, you fire them and replace them with newer / more efficient ones."
"But in medicine, life is precious. As a physician, you can do much with one hand. Both professions are noble. Engineering and Medicine. But medicine is unique because you deal with lives. Not materials."
