I will be living in Cebu City for at least three months from June. I have never lived in Cebu but I am looking forward to this working stint for a Japanese consortium in the Philippines. My daughter intends to take up schooling at UP Cebu this school year, so I prefer the Lahug area. Sa atong mga kaubanan sa Cebu, naa ba mo'y marecommend nga apartment nga safe neighborhood para sa mga bata? Mas barato mas OK, 15K~20K ang budget. Thanks!
With your budget you will have no problem getting an apartment in a safe neighborhood around UP Cebu. Ibabaw sa UP naa didtoy mga maayong kapuy-an sama sa giingon ni BNC ug kanang imong nakit-an na.
I myself used to live beside UP Cebu when I studied there. Kilid jud sa UP Cebu duol sa mga kan-anan nga adto-an sa mga estudyante. BNC describes it as unsafe pero sauna ing-ana na man na. Hinuon that was 20+ years na and it was different then, or is it? But I worked there until 2002 and some of my younger frat brods nga mga Bol-anon nga estudyante atong panahona diha ra sad sa duol nagpuyo. Para nako mas duol sa UP Cebu (kana jung kilid sa mga gate) mas safe.
But you have a daughter so it's far safer in an apartment. Jeepney is still a good transpo means (I think) ang importante lang sa Cebu dili magsaya-saya ug pakita sa mga gamit. Kung gabii, mas better siguro jud ang taxi although mahal.
My brother's family lives in Ramos Street. Didto man ko nagpuyo sauna (for years) pud oks ra man mag-jeep pauli. Kung gusto ka, naay daghan mga maayong dormitory duol didto like Clara Marja and the one behind us. Kasagaran mga estudyante sa Velez, Cebu Doc, USC pero ubay-ubay sad didto mga UP Cebu students.
