Yes, Bran. Several times already. Generally, people there are "social." :)

more than once.  the first time was for a papal visit (i ended up sleeping in la salle bacolod's clinic; my 'hotel' accommodation) and the subsequent times were as a worker of a certain firm that has an office in the city.  every time, i went to a house with fabulous orchids.  i frequented that house only for the orchids.  (i have forgotten the name of that chinese lady whose income from the orchids was jaw-dropping.)  that house is in a subdivision where may-have-been-first-lady susan roces and hubby the late may-have-been-president fpj have a house.  of course, the ancestral house of the family of jesusa purificacion sonora (aka susan roces) is near the church at the city center.

i liked the city then; wide roads, orderly, not much traffic.  i don't know how it is now.

I was in Bacolod only once, one whole summer of my lost childhood.

My vacation was memorable for two things:

1. Nakat-on kog Inilonggo ug misaad nga di nako hikalimtan ang maong pinulongan.
2. Nakahukom ko nga dili ug dili gajud magpatuli.

Decades have passed and I'm proud to say that I have kept my promises...

Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental, rightfully is called the "Sugar Capital" of the Philippines:
