no.  unless the u.s. is asked by the multitude of syrians themselves, it should learn from past experiences to leave other countries enough alone.  remember the kind of intelligence the u.s. had about iraq?

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

I was reading CNN and an article said that the Iranians threaten to strike Israel if the United States strikes Syria.

If Iran strikes Israel, there is no way Israel will sit back and take that without responding in full force.

I wonder what Russia and China's response will be.

In other news, its calming to know that there are those who wish to resolve this situation through prayer:

Pope asks other faiths to join day of prayer for peace in Syria

(Reuters) - Pope Francis on Sunday invited people of all faiths to join him and the world's Catholics in a day of prayer and fasting on September 7 to end the conflict in Syria.

Addressing tens of thousands of people in St. Peter's Square, he issued a long, impassioned appeal for peace in Syria and across the Middle East, saying God and history would be the judge of those who promoted violence or prevented peace.

Francis condemned the use of chemical weapons, blamed by Western powers on Syrian government forces, but added: "War, never again".

The United States and France are considering military action against Damascus in response to the chemical attack but Francis urged the international community to make every effort to bring about peace based on "dialogue and negotiations".

"Violence never leads to peace, war leads to war, violence leads to violence," he said.

The pope asked the 1.2 billion Roman Catholics around the world to pray for peace in Syria and observe a day of prayer and fasting on Saturday.

Francis announced his initiative a day after a meeting of top Vatican officials on Syria. He said he would lead a special prayer service in St. Peter's Square on Saturday between 7 p.m. and midnight (1800-2300 GMT).

The pope invited other Christians, members of other religions and all "people of goodwill" to join the Catholic initiative in any way they saw fit.

The peace initiative is reminiscent of several made by the late Pope John Paul, including one in which he dispatched envoys to Iraq, the United States and European capitals in 2003 to try to avert war in Iraq.

please, u.s.a., don't make more enemies in the middle east.  geopolitics dictate anyway that you wouldn't lift a finger for any other country if it is not in your best interests.

Seems like they won't strike. The Congress is already fed up with Obama's fakking policies. He is using this Syrian issue to hide the REAL problem. That problem is the impending OBAMACARE issue. The Congress is now going to vote whether to fund this OBAMACARE or not. He wants to evade the voting and thus he has put this idiotic notion of striking Syria.

First of all, Obama, the Syrian rebels who we are arming, many of which are part of Al Nusfra, and Muslim Brotherhood, who have been linked to Al Qaeda.

Please, do not make the mistake during the 1970s and 1980s when the United States armed and supported the Mujahadeen during the Soviet-Afghani War. The Mujahadeen, ironically, was the same group that attacked us later on. Bin Laden was trained and supported by American forces during the Soviet-Afghani War.

Please do not make the same mistake.

Don't get involved in Syria.

Let them take care of themselves.
