In recent party gathering, my titos and titas were serving tea, coffee, sikwati as well as ginamos, rice, etc.
This was occuring in the early morning, may I add.
To my dismay was seeing a Tito who was already plagued with HTN (over 200/150), eating and consuming salted ginamos with rice and black coffee.
I immediately gave my point to everyone in the room.
Kai contraindicated kaayo ilang actions.
Ginamos, which is laden with high amount of salt, which is responsible for the retention of water, which is contraindciated if a patient is having cardiovascualr problems because this leads to an increase in pre-load, which will lead to cardiomegaly of the heart if untreated or unchecked, and this will lead to HTN, or if the patient has already clinical hypertension, will exacerbate the problem.
Drinking pure black coffee when one is hypertensive is contraindicated or if one has cardiac problems, is also contrindicated because coffee has caffeine. THe effects of caffeine is Tachycardia. Again, contraindicated.
Be safe, be healthy, be thorough minded, folks.
All the best.
