Pray for those who talk ill about you. If they hate you, do not suffer their vices. Pray for them, and forgive them. It is hard at times, but it is better that way so as to not hold a heavy heart.
For a while, I had a heavy heart against an individual who talked ill about me in college. But, you realize that it isn't worth it and that it only hurts you if you keep on thinking about it. Forgive them, and release your sufferings and your pains to God alone. Forgive so that you, too, may be forgiven.
