MANILA – The United Architects of the Philippines plans to meet to come up with building recommendations following the Two Serendra blast.

Architect Sonny Rosal, national president of the United Architects of the Philippines, said they are looking into the use of construction materials and the installation and composition of wall systems, among others.

“Were trying to look into what caused the accident so we can be aware of what to advise our clients. Within our organization we’re creating a committee just to make a study on how to make recommendations and keep our professionals aware of the materials, of the situations,” Rosal told ANC’s “Dateline Philippines” on Saturday.

Rosal also reminded building owners in Bonifacio Global City to check on their installations, wirings and connections.

He also urged condo-owners to check their facilities and unplug their appliances if not in use to ensure the safety of their homes.

Despite the recent explosion, Rosal believes that condominium units still make a good investment option, with sufficient checks on the developer's track record and compliance with structural guidelines. -- ANC
