I think so. As I've known the wine which contain high in flavonoids, the better. Wines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah and Pinot Noir.

How many glasses should I drink and how often?

haha as if i'm an expert to this. But anyway, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah and Pinot Noir are labeled on each bottle. I don't think the brand matters.

For men, it is advisable to drink one or two servings per day. And one serving for women.

Studies show that drinking two to three glasses of red wine daily is good for the heart.

The antioxidants properties in red wine lowers the risk of heart disease. However, there is still no proof that consuming antioxidants actually lowers the risk of heart and artery disease.

Besides drinking red wine daily, there are other ways to reduce heart disease. Eating fresh fruits, vegetables and fish, and reduced intake of milk products can reduce the risk of heart disease.

There are red wines that required to be served at "room temperature". Kaso, this is European room temperature which is much colder than room termperature in Bohol. So ang himoon, the bottle is wrapped in towel soaked with water --  dili siya chilled but colder than Bohol's room temperature.

My doctor said that the red wine that is good for the heart is the cabernet sauvignon. Any brand so long as it is of this kind. It also lowers blood sugar level based on my personal experience.

Hi GEC,

I'll buzz you when I'm in town and let's toast to Cabernet Sauvignon, my favorite, and reportedly the most salutary of red wines.

As long as you show up in human form, we can drink spirit.

Okay, Benny ;)  In that case...

A glass of wine each or an entire bottle we must consume?
I need to develop my threshold or who will drive me home?

Just wondering.  How much is a bottle of a fairly good wine in Bohol - red or white?  I suppose we all have kinds of wine there i.e., Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Cavernet Sauvignon and most importantly, my husband's favorite, Chardonnay.  I like to drink red wine especially with stinky cheese.  It's also nice to sip wine after eating pasta.

I notice in this thread everybody loves wine, sorry lang ha kung dili ni movie section pero can't help myself to recommend everyone to watch the movie "Sideways" kay bahin ug love story ug wine gyud ni sya. Humurous and cute. I must admit it influenced me not to like "Merlot" hehehe.
ms.grazie, sus kung naa ko sa Pinas, dili gyud tawn ko moinum ug wine instead I'll drink the ones nga dili nako sa mainom sa US like tuba, tanduay, red horse ug uban pa hehehe.

To contribute about red wine, I love Woodbrige Cabernet Sauvignon (Sec) and Lambrusco for my sweet taste bud.

Beth, I actually don't drink Tuba, Tanduay or beer.  Di nko ma take ang smell sa beer but my husband drinks San Miguel beer.  Whenever I go to the Pinoy store, I always buy him a 12-pack of San Miguel beer.  I drink wine but just a little.  I use red wine more in cooking stew and humba.

Oh, I also make a warm drink out of red wine - Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon is fine.  I just empty a whole bottle in a stock pot, add cinnamon sticks, a handful of cloves, sprig of mint and a squeeze of lemon juice.  Just give a quick boil and that's it.  Serve warm!

hehehe mao ba ms.grazie, patilawa sya ug red horse basin moangay sya compared to San Miguel like husband sa akong friend for him the best daw ang Red Horse.

To be honest gyud noh, we don't drink wine very often na karon. Ako bana dili na sya moinum kay allergic sya sa alcohol not good for him na gyud. Mao na ako nalay moinum pero special occasions nalang gyud kay gusto nako nga when I drink it, I consider it as one of my treat body indulgence para dili ma spoil and kalami sa red wine ug ma enjoy gyud nako ug taman and not just because for the sake of drinking it.
Maayo ka diha kay creative ka kaayo sa imong red wine. Good for you!

Beth, we are never without wine - either for drinking or for cooking but always naay Chardonnay and a bottle of Merlot just in case naay mag visit. Pero kanang mga baratohon ra man and yet award-winning wines.  We get it from Trader Joe's, the sole distributor of Charles Shaw wines.

I have dry sherry wine and blackberry wine for my cakes.

Unya kung naa mi visitors nga moabot, ana rapod mi mopalit kay kabaw naka every visitor has different taste.

Korek gyud ka Ginger, palainum lagi tawn buaw ang mga TB, sus siguro inig EB, malipay ang mapalitan nga store ani kay i'm sure daghan gyud mapalit like you said.

Hi GEC,

Can't help but think we're kindred souls. Imagine the elusive GEC answering right next to my post! And to this, let's toast a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon each. OK ka lang? Actually, I am more lucid, write better and read more Japanese characters after a bottle of red wine...

Mangontrata na lang tag mag-drive pauli.

By the way, you got my real nickname, and spelled it right, "Benny." Is this random guess or sleuth job?
