Switzerland's Competition Commission said Friday it has opened an investigation into 12 financial institutions, including three major Japanese banks, on suspicion of colluding to influence interbank rates.
The three Japanese banks are Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. <8306>, Mizuho Financial Group Inc. <8411> and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc.
The commission said in a statement that it "has received information regarding potential unlawful agreements among banks." - Jiji Press
