Antique PWDs to undergo 'disability equality training'
SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique, March 9 (PNA) -–Persons with Disability (PWDs) in Antique will undergo a "disability equality training" here on Saturday.
Paulo Castillo, Antique PWD affairs officer, said that Dr. June Ann De Vera of the Philippine Rehabilitation Medicine and Eunice Factor of the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) will be here for the
training.
He said that the training would be attended by the officers of the PWD municipal organizations in the province for them to eventually establish their respective community-based rehabilitation program that benefited their members.
Disability equality training explores the concept of people being disabled by society's barriers and attitudes. It will highlight the role of society in the removal of those barriers and in the changing of attitudes.
The training may include customer care, etiquette and appropriate language.
There are 8,592 PWDs registered with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office in Antique.(PNA)
