Dads oust Bindoy SK head

The Bindoy Sangguniang Bayan has passed a resolution removing Michael Mana-ay, Sangguniang Kabataan federation president, for absence without official leave, effective immediately.
The town council passed resolution 598, series of 2001 late last year but forwarded it only recently to the Provincial Board for confirmation.
Mana-ay, the son of former town Mayor Jeceju Mana-ay, went AWOL for several months. Later on he revealed that he went abroad.
A source, however, said the council reportedly found out that Mana-ay was only staying in Manila all that time.
Mana-ay also reportedly started working in the office of Rep. Jacinto Paras as liaison officer after last year's elections. His act deprived the SK of representation in the town council.
The town council resolution is believed to be actually only a formality so that a vacancy could be declared and a replacement named.
Meanwhile, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved P896,420 for the purchase of the two six-wheeler trucks to replace its dilapidated dump truck.
The dump trucks will bolster the implementation of the farm-to-market roads in Negros Oriental, government officials said.*NV
