RDC 8 tackles security aspects of poverty reduction program
Tacloban City (November 1, 2007) -- The
security aspects of the Poverty Reduction Program will be tackled, among others, during the scheduled November 7, 2007 meeting of the Development Administration Committee of the Regional Development Council of Eastern Visayas.
No less than Col. Francis Lanuza of the Philippine Army in the Region, will discuss the security aspects of the anti-poverty program which is very much needed in the Region considering the unique topography and situation in the Region.
To be held at the NEDA Conference Room at the Government Center, Candahug, Palo, Leyte from 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 12:00 o'clock noon, the Secretariat informed that aside from tackling the matters arising from the minutes of the April meeting, the Committee members will be informed on the joint memo circular No. 1, series of 2007 on the Harmonization of Local Planning, Investment Programming, Revenue Administration and Expenditure Management.
This memo circular hopes the common problem of the Local Government Units on the many kinds of plans and budgeting which are required by the various national government agencies.
The Secretariat is also scheduled to discuss for endorsement of the committee, the plan assessment and updating (MACRO and Government Sectors).
Finally, the draft guidelines on the Galing RDC Member Award will be discussed for endorsement of the committee.
The Galing RDC Member Award is being proposed by the Development Administration Committee to give due recognition to the RDC Members who have achieved exemplary accomplishments.
The Development Administration Committee is one of the four major committees of the Regional Development Council in Eastern Visayas. The other three are the Economic Development Committee, the Social Development Committee and the Infrastructure Development Committee. (PIA 8 )
