Maasin City (1 December 2005) -- There were at least twenty-two new Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) beneficiaries who attended the Health Care Program and Leadership Training held recently at Hidden Valley, Liloan, Southern Leyte.
According to Department of Agrarian Reform Information Officer Angeli Kaindoy of Sogod, Southern Leyte, the training was conducted by the Holy Peace Foundation based in Paranaque City , a Non-Government Organization that assisted DAR in educating CARP beneficiaries and indigenous people regarding
health care and other leadership programs.
It was also reported that the two-day training led by Sr. Eva Maamo, one of the Board of Directors of the Holy Peace Foundation was also attended by the beneficiaries from the provinces of Bohol and Leyte.
Kaindoy further quoted DAR Development Facilitator Victoria Ligtas that the training gave the beneficiaries more support in order to improve their lives in addition to the training they had attended at the Paranaque City Holy Peace Foundation Hospital last January 2005.
Meanwhile, another related training at Brgy. Pinamudlan, San Francisco, Southern Leyte was held recently, still on Health Care and Livelihood Program.
The one-day training was attended by (47) CARP beneficiaries which was led by Sr. Eva Maamo of the Holy Peace Foundation.
A follow-up home visitation was conducted by the foundation after the (2) trainings to know whether the beneficiaries have applied what they had learned from the said training. (PIA-So. Leyte
