OFWs from Western Visayas
« on: October 07, 2022, 08:57:17 AM »
"Iloilo City (1 December 2005) -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is the top destination of overseas land-based workers in Western Visayas during the last 10 months of 2005 after it hired/rehired some 2,933 documented Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as recorded by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration 6 (OWWA 6).

Based on the same record, after KSA, Hongkong is the next destination of overseas workers in the region where a total of 1,266 processed their contracts for land-based employment in the said country during the same period.

Recently, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that Middle East is seen to remain the biggest source of employment for the OFWs in the next three years with KSA, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Israel, Libya and Jordan generating the most number of new job opportunities.

Related to this, Labor and Employment Secretary Patricia Sto. Tomas said that various marketing strategies will be pursued by the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices in the Middle East to ensure the OFWs' access to the new job opportunities that are projected to be generated in the region starting 2006 until 2008.

For the next three years, a total of 258,950 new jobs are projected by DOLE that would be generated in the Middle East. Of this number, some 173,600 new jobs will be generated in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCCs) of KSA, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman and another 85,350 in Non-GCC countries of Lebanon, Israel, Libya and Jordan.

In the GCCs, the most number of new jobs are expected to be generated by the sustained construction activities and expansion in the medical, tourism, retail, ICT sectors and the expansion of the exploration of oil and gas while the non-GCCs countries are projected to need more foreign household workers and caregivers."

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
