Tacloban folk laud efficient delivery of gov't service

Tacloban City (30 October) -– More than 300 land claimants of the pilot town of Sta. Fe, Leyte lauded the efficient delivery of government service when they received their free-patent land titles distributed during the awarding ceremony held at the Sta. Fe Municipal Social Hall last October 26, 2005.
The free-patent titling of lands under the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP) with the assistance of Australian AID and the World Bank, is jointly implemented by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform and Land Registration Authority.
Beneficiaries of the land titles were impressed that it took only more than a year to process these documents and for their aspirations to get hold of the land titles to become a reality. The prompt distribution of the titles, some beneficiaries observed, negates the perceptions of the people that delivering government services is in a snail-paced manner.
These beneficiaries were happy, too, for availing this specific government service free of charge as what one of the beneficiaries hinted that land titling if done individually cost several thousands.
The distribution of the land titles were witnessed by members of the House of Representatives who were co-authors of the bill which caused the creation of the Land Administration and Management Project.
Present in the distribution of the titles were Cong. Eduardo Zialcita of the 1st District of Parañaque and Cong. Jose Solis of the 2nd District of Sorsogon. (PIA-8)
