8 out of 10 Boholanos back guv’s leadership

Roughly 8 out of 10 Boholanos are satisfied with the performance of Gov. Edgar Chatto as top leader of the province, according to the latest survey conducted by the Holy Name University (HNU) Research Center.

The results of the Bohol Poll 2014 shows that Chatto, who is serving his second term as governor, gathered a net satisfaction rating of 82%.

Chatto has been earning this high trust and confidence from Boholanos since he assumed office in 2010, said to be the highest ratings given to an incumbent governor ever.

The governor's selfless servant leadership has not escaped the attention of no less than the highest leader of the country.

President Noynoy Aquino, during his latest visit to the province a week ago, lauded Chatto's leadership especially in the quick action and strategic response to what is dubbed the great Bohol quake, which toppled homes, roads, bridges, churches, and claimed human lives. Aquino spoke of what is surely a bright future that await Boholanos with hardworking leaders like Chatto.

The results of the survey conducted between April 2 to 27 were released by the HNU Research Center, mastered by the Social Weather Station, on Monday.

Chatto polled highest in the Second District at 89%, followed by 83% in the First District, and 76% in the Third District. Tagbilaranons gave the governor a satisfaction rating of 75%.
Respondents of the survey were asked if they are satisfied, dissatisfied, or not satisfied at all by execution of official mandates of the governor.

The Office of the Governor also received the same level of trust and confidence with the survey showing the Governor's Office getting the highest satisfaction rating from those who visited government offices in the past 6 months.

The Bohol Poll survey also displayed a high net satisfactory rating for tourism promotion at 68%, the number steadily climbing to this peak since surveys in 2010.

The upcoming visit of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary General Dr. Taleb Rifal is sure to boost tourism promotion as the Bohol Tourism Recovery Plan is to be reported in the presence of the highest official of the highest policy-making body for tourism in the world.

Under the leadership of Chatto, which thrust has advocated the strong participation of the private sector, especially in leading the tourism industry, the recovery plan for tourism maps out strategies such as restoring visitor confidence and recovering markets, maximizing impacts, increasing resiliency of destinations, communities and businesses to crises, and expanding Bohol's position as top tourism destination nationally and globally.

Only 3% said they were dissatisfied while 13% were undecided, said the same survey about Chatto's leadership.

Urban centers gave the governor a net satisfaction rating of 73%, while rural rating posted a high of 86%.

Across brackets, the class ABC rated him 82%; class D, 82%; and class E, 84%.
The governor also polled highest at 84% satisfaction rating among those aged between 25-34, and 45-above, while he got 81% from young people aged 18-24.

Chatto, for his part said, it has always been shared leadership, transparency, and good good governance that has helped propel Bohol towards achieving successes, whether it is to further development, and even now in its recovery efforts. It is team effort in dedicated public service that resulted in the high satisfaction ratings of the Governor's Office and other Capitol offices, a confidence that Chatto appreciates.

As governor, Chatto institutionalized People's Day at the Capitol and now at the mansion and in satellite offices in Talibon, Carmen, and Jagna. (Leah/EDCOM)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
