Davao Oriental town commends Kapalong dad

KAPALONG, Davao del Norte (1 November 2007) -- The Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Governor Generoso pass and approves Municipal Resolution No. 53 series of 2007 expressing appreciation and gratitude to SB Member Helario T. Caminero of the Muncipality of Kapalong, Davao del Norte for his untiring effort by way of an extra-ordinary support for the establishment of Governor Generoso Institute of Arts and Sciences (GGIAS).

Governor Generoso Municipal Resolution cited, "the necessity of establishing tertiary institution came into reality by way of having extra-ordinary support especially for those who dedicate their untiring and unselfish efforts in the project - GGIAS."

The local government of Governor Generoso headed by Mayor Jerry dela Cerna, with the elected officials, DepEd personnel secondary and elementary made a field study, conducted a series of actual visits, and on the spot observation to learn and acquire desired measures for the establishment of tertiary education.

SB Member Caminero whose remarkable contributions in the establishment of Kapalong

College of Arts and Sciences (KCAST) has become the inspiration of the study team to go back to Kapalong and replicate the LGU Best Practice on higher education program.

Caminero sat down with the study team until the wee hours of midnight during their series of visit in Kapalong, discussed and shared his strategies that made the assurance in the opening and operation of GGIAS on June 2007.

Caminero a re-elected SB Member of Kapalong still holds the chairmanship on Committee on Education with his aspiration to continue his mission for a globally competitive educated young Kapalongnians.

Caminero recently elected Provincial PCL President now sits as one of the Provincial Board Member of Davao del Norte. (MIO, Kapalong, DNorte/PIA XI)
