by Robert E. Roperos
Butuan City (4 July 2005) -- The Caraga Skills Olympic Foundation, Inc. (CSOFI), in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Caraga Region is set to conduct the 4th Regional Skills Competition from July 26-29, 2005 here with the theme "Galing sa Trabaho, Kredit sa Kolehiyo, Angat Tayo!"
Designed purposely to showcase and recognize the work excellence of young skilled workers and industry workers for both sexes in a competitive setting, the activity also supports the effort of the Arroyo Administration in giving youths the opportunity to develop their skills in different fields and prepare them to be world-class craftsmen for better job opportunities both here and abroad. It also raises the level of public awareness and importance of blue-collar jobs and the vital workers in nation building.
The four-day activity also challenges young, skilled and industry workers to do better to have quality products that can compete in the world market.
CSOFI President Shirley Lim of the Agusan Institute of Technology (AIT) called on its government and private partners, and other stakeholders for support and cooperation in this undertaking for the promotion and development of the middle-level workforce, especially the youth. (PIA Caraga)
