Bohol joins int'l disaster confab
2017 News File: Bohol is slated to join an international disaster symposium to improve the province's capacity to effectively respond to disasters and other kinds of emergency.
This, as most of the time local government units wait for actual emergence of disaster, instead of practicing disaster preparedness.
Representing Bohol is Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office head Anthony Damalerio to the International Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Symposium organized by the Asia-Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD).
The goal is to strengthen the cooperation between the communities to help one another in the face of calamities or disasters and prioritize help to vulnerable sectors.
Reports said Damalerio exchange ideas with the new regional director of the Office of Civil Defense Concepcion Omopia in the field of disaster readiness.
Omopia is expected to visit Bohol and make a courtesy call with the governor next month. (Ven Rebo Arigo)
