San Jose, Antique (29 July 2005) -- "Antique is a Jueteng-free province", emphasized P/Supt. Ronilo V. He likewise stressed that the province of Antique remains peaceful.

Quebrar explained, the PNP celebrates the Police Community Relations (PCR) month this July with the theme "Pag-ibayuhin: Magalang, Mahusay at Matapat Na Kapulisan, Lingkod Ng Bayan".

In observance of the event, he pointed out that various activities were undertaken, among which were school visits, conduct of lectures and symposiums designed to bring the government services closer to the people, thereby enhancing the participation of the community in the fight against criminality.

Quebrar underscored the need for a collaborative undertaking among stakeholders, the people in the community and the police in the anti-criminality campaign.

To drive home his point, the Provincial Director cited the latest robbery incident in the capital town of San Jose when the policemen were able to apprehend the suspects in just a short period with the support of the people.

Further, an innovative approach described as "Police Ko Textmate Ko" project was launched recently in the municipality of Laua-an as one of the strategies adopted to boost the drive against criminality.
