8 water systems provided to Gov. Generoso farmers
GOV. GENEROSO, Davao Oriental (29 June 2005) -- Agrarian reform beneficiaries and residents in two barangays here will no longer walk a 100 meters or more to fetch from a common deep well, as eight rural water system worth P245,919, were constructed in the communities.

Regional director Rodolfo Inson of the Department of Land Reform (DLR), Davao Oriental governor Elena Palma Gil and Governor Generoso mayor Jerry dela Cerna led last week the turn-over of eight units of rural water supply (RWS) level I or the manual water pumps in six "purok" of barangays Poblacion and Crispin dela Cruz.

Provincial agrarian reform officer Benjamin Luz of the DLR XI stated that the RWS project with 60-foot depth for each well, were implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP), one of the foreign-assisted projects of DLR.

He said the funding came from a soft loan courtesy of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and equity share from the local government unit.

Luz said that the water system was part of the support service program of the department for the agrarian reform beneficiaries to provide good condition and improved life in the countryside.

Aside from this, he stated that the project was also in line with the Food Always in the Home (FAITH) program of Gov. Palma Gil who urged here constituents in the barangays during the turn-over ceremony to give value to water because it is life.

Brgy. Captains Rolando Raymundo and Napone Tomasino of Poblacion and Crispin dela Cruz, respectively, expressed happiness and gratitude to the various government agencies for providing their constituents the "gift of life" which is the basic need of the people.

They urged their people to take responsibility in maintaining and sustaining the project for them to live a quality life.

Mayor dela Cerna, meanwhile, was grateful to DLR for considering his town as one of the recipients of the latter's projects to bring progress in the countryside.

In his acceptance speech, the Mayor stressed the importance of water as part of the life of the people. He said he would be strong in his crusade to protect and preserve the town's remaining forest because it is the main source of water.

DLR-XI regional director Rodolfo Inson stated that pouring in development projects in the countryside was a way of the government in addressing the basic needs of the farmers. (DLR XI/ PIA XI)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
