20 Negrenses injured by firecrackers during New Year revelry - police
BACOLOD CITY, Jan. 1 (PNA) -- Twenty firecracker-related injuries were reported in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, during the New Year revelry, the police said.
A total of 12 injuries were tallied by the Bacolod City Police Office, said acting director Senior Supt. Melchor Coronel.
Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said eight incidents were recorded in the province as of Jan. 1.
Both officials said that no stray bullet incidents were reported.
They considered the New Year celebrations in the city and the province generally peaceful despite reports of shooting and stabbing incidents.
During the New Year's Eve, at least 30 people were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod due to road accidents, police also reported.(PNA)
