International AIDS Vaccine DayCanada made the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS a key component of its international development assistance because we recognize the seriousness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its impact on families around the world. As part of CIDA?s health programs, and through the G8 Muskoka Initiative on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, we help partner countries deliver integrated and comprehensive health services to women and children, including HIV testing and counselling, and prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
