It is the airplane that has facilitated globalization. Its invention has led to the mass migration and movement of peoples on a wide scale, it has changed the military theater, developing and changing the way wars and battles are fought. It has led to the increased trade between nations, continents, and peoples. The mastery of flight via the airplane, further propelled human invention to reach for the stars, literally. A direct result of human flight is the Space Program.
It's invention and usage has illustrated the concept of an asymmetry in travel.
