After two days of sizzling 36.2 degrees Celsius, temperature in Metro Manila on Thursday dipped to 35.2 degrees Celsius.
Weather observers recorded 35.2°C at around 2 p.m. at the Science Garden in Quezon City, following brief rainshowers.
As expected, Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija recorded a higher 36.6°C, and Tuguegarao in Cagayan, 36.4 °C.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration blamed the searing heat on the ridge of the high pressure area which kept clouds from forming in Luzon.
Pagasa forecast that the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms today.
