The day I wanted our shih tzu to turn into a lion

it was time to groom nutty our shih tzu...

inspired by a video here in tb about a dog whose hair was cut like a lion's and the 911 calls he inspired (everybody, even dogs, mutually inspire, right?), i thought it was time to have nutty's hair cut like a lion's too...

my sms exchange with our 11-year-old on that fateful day:

our 11-year-old: hi mama... how does a lion look like for nutty?

me: look at a picture of a male lion with a mane.

our 11-year-old: ummm, we are already in [veterinary clinic]... and they don't have a pic. of a lion...

me: internet, please. you mean, they haven't groomed a lion? come on...

our 11-yeard-old: i mean... they are already asking how would nutty look like... theres no internet in [veterinary clinic]... and, they haven't groomed a dog like a lion...

me: they must know how a male lion looks like. like simba when he was grown.

our 11-year-old: hahahahah... they don't know how... the only question is: what happens to the neck and head?

me: bare face and top of head. hair is left uncut around area just behind the ears down to the neck. end of tail hair is also uncut. everything else is bare.

our 11-year-old: thanks mama... that was all we needed...

they said she got tired after being groomed


i knew that nutty will never look like a lion. i was simply curious. but nothing prepared me for her to end up looking like the singing nun!

bagay sa iyaha ug sa panahon karon nga hastang inita... one of my dogs, si Boknoy, (kaning naa sa akong avatar) malipay ni siya ug mag ulan... maligo gyud ni siya.. magdagan dagan, magligid ligid pero kung ligo-on sa akong manghud or papa, mahadlok.. ;D

mas maayo tingali ka molugod ni boknoy...

di bitaw ko pabor nga mopataas sa buok ug shih tzu unya taoran ug ribbons.  malooy ko sa iro nga mokaon ug moinom kay adto ang ending sa buhok, mamilit. besides, shih tzus are prone to high blood pressure with the heat.  mao nga kinahanglan hayahay ilang paminaw with the shortest hair possible. nutty is shaved once every 3 months.

seriously, i was told by a vet that it happens to animal hair so i should not worry when our cats have falling hair sometimes.  ni-wonder man god ko sa una kay one of our cats took 3 years to grow her hair back.
