you might be correct Mike, this was due to some cockfigfhting affectionados tends to gamble more penny rather than buying on their family needs, in fairness to others, they handle very well those hobby so with their needs in family.

The problem with gambling, as with any other addiction, is: it consumes the person. The person becomes the most selfish creature on earth, focused only on his 'wants' and 'needs'. His world revolves on his addiction, and on how he can satisfy his craving.

Ms. C2 and Brownman, you are both true! First hand experience from a daughter of a true gambler. When we were growing up, my Dad gambled what little money he had which was supposed to be for our food! Gambling is indeed an addiction. My father was so consumed with gambling then. One time I gave him a watch, he sold it so he could go to cockfighting or what they call, Sunday School! Can you imagine that?

Sugarol pud akong father sa una Ms Grazie, so I also know first-hand how it is to live with a family member who's a gambler/addict. Lisod jud kaayo. It's not that they don't love us, it's not that they're bad people. It's just the addiction overpowering everything else, so that it reaches a point where nothing else matters but that.

I remember, my uncle asked for money to gamble in this kind of addiction. No way, I just couldn't give it to him, what a waste of hard earn money!
