The Sin of Lying About Someone
« on: August 02, 2009, 01:07:36 AM »
A reminder to all of you, all of you.

Keep these words to heart and to your soul. For theirs are the Word of God.

All the Glory, Honor and Praise belong to The Eternal Living God.

Brothers and Sisters,
Be Good.
Don't Lie.

----

Proverbs 6:16-19, "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."

Isaiah 59:12-13, "For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood."

Jeremiah 9:3, "And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD."

Jeremiah 9:5, "And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity."

I like the letter you wrote on the other thread.

I have been doing much talking with Mike about what has been happening and he was truly and deeply hurt.

I was not able to see the posting myself but it was vindictive from the sounds of it.

I recently had wrote a column about this type of things that I notice here and if people do not work or have a positive hobby they will meddle and make false muck against others.

I call it vicious busy bodying about and people in a dominant Roman Catholic country know better.

Lying is sin and it's against the will of God much more if it's used to
destroy or slander somebody else reputation willfully and intentionally.

James 3:5 "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.
Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!"

James 3:6 " And the tongue is a fire , a world of iniquity; so is the tongue
among our members , that it defileth the whole body, and setteth
on fire  the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell."

James 3:8 "But the tongue can no man tame, it is an unruly evil, full of
                   deadly poison"

Romans 3:13 "Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues
they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their
                        lips."

This little member of our body, the tongue, can really drag us to hell if
you let it go loose, cutting other people in pieces just like a two-edged sword.
How? simply by gossiping , busybodies and boasting.

Better yet, we need to use our tongue  to talk about
              the goodness of the Lord.
 Repent and get saved.

Lying takes several forms and is justified by the liar for so many different reasons. Perhaps one of the most used forms of lying is exaggeration. Most of the time these lies are told to impress someone or to gain "one up" on the person to whom he is speaking. Fish stories are great examples of exaggeration at its best.

I couldn't agree more on this topic. We must at all times be true to ourselves and act accordingly so we don't have to lie.
