If things go as planned, convicted former congressman Romeo Jalosjos will be released today from the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City.
In a text message late last night, Bureau of Corrections Director Ricardo Dapat confirmed that Jalosjos, convicted of raping a minor, will be freed this morning.
"Yes, Jalosjos will be released Sunday, perhaps in the morning," Dapat said.
Jalosjos' life sentence was commuted by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in April. As of May 30, 2007, Jalosjos had served 13 years, 5 months and 15 days, according to former BuCor Director Vicente Vinarao.
