I don't really know what the whole truth is but this particular incident I knew about really took place; a parent told me (istorya2x lang god namo about 3 weeks ago). They were asked by the school (Regents in Mactan) to contribute for their children's Baccalaureate Mass kay P5 thou daw bayad to get a priest to say the Mass. How true I really don't know... but that's what they were told.

this sounds like the school's decision on the amount and not the priest's. the amount could be true, but not because the priest specified it. it may have been presented that way to the parents to avoid protests from them.

Yup! I do that all the time labi na kung naa ko sa Bohol. When they gave me stipends I usually donate it back to a chapel (Cabawan, San Isidro, Cogon, Ubayon (Loon), Catigbian, etc) or to a family who ask me to do a funeral, memorial mass or house blessing. In addition, mo tampo paman gani kog lain as my personal contribution (I apologize for mentioning it). Because I do believe "there is joy - real joy - in giving" and that it will come back to you a hundredfold when you're generous in giving yourself... maski pobre pa ta (no exception).

I understand. But that's what we're talking about... re: about the possibility that this ain't the whole truth yet. That's why we're asking questions or throwing possibilities back and forth (really speculating at most, LoL). Kung tinuod pa ni, it really makes me mad... pero duna man say punto ang uban deri who claims basin dili pod uroy ang pari nag sulti ani but his lay aides. I guess I have to do my own investigating (LoL)

This reminds me of the time when I went to visit the Shrine of Senor Santo Nino in Cebu. While i was trying to look for roses and plants to offer the Blessed Holy Child, all the sellers came to me with their large flowers, and roses, the price range for these were anywhere from 50 to 150 to 300 pesos. all of these were grand looking.

However, while i was choosing, a little boy came behind me and tugged on my shirt.

"Sir, palit'a ni, sir. 15 pesos lang."

This little boy showed me this beautiful red rose. I fell in love with it and got it.
I gave him 15 pesos, but went to my pockets to give him a tip, and by the time i was about to give it to him, when i turned around, he was already gone. I could not find this little boy.

When I told this to my cousin and my uncles, the said kono, "It was probably Senor Santo Nino, dong..."

hehehe, it reminds me that "grandeur" doesn't really count sometimes.

what counts is what comes from the heart.

this refers, too, in regards to church offerings.

one more reason why it is difficult for me to believe hook, line, and sinker what started this thread in the first place. there really is no protection for priests when it comes to intrigues in his own parish, especially one that is crawling with pharisees. priests may have some character flaws, as we all have, but we must err on the side of compassion when it comes to rumors and innuendos.

I agree with you. Libel is very dangerous and I do hope that the original poster knows that people can be sent to court for libel and for the destruction of character. I know many people in the Philippines and in the United States who were sued for libel. So please, members, becareful what you write here in this public forum. Make sure you are not tarnishing names as it can come back at you. In the court of Law.

Fr. Roel is correct. If you have a problem with someone, address it to the person in question. Don't propagate here-says especially if they are not proven!

yep dapat donations ra. pero karon naa na price na 3k. wa ko kabaw if mao jud na price kada special mass. pero sa mga schools gusto magpamisa last march para graduation mao daw na pangayo. mao wala nalang daw pamisa ang mga schools.

sa amoang parish diri kung asa ko nagpuyo karon. isangyaw kada dominggo isip pahibalo sa katawhan ang mga kausaban sa balayranan sa kasal, bunyag, lubong ug uban pang matang sa serbisyo nga gidalit sa simbahan. buhaton na nila kada human sa kalawat before manalangin sa ending sa mass. at least kani open kaayo nga paagi pagpahibalo. basin ako nagyawyaw ko sa una pagkahibalo nako sa mga changes pero wala tay mahimo mando sa atong simbahan. bisan asa ta nga simbahan paingon ma katoliko man ug dili duna jud rules ug balayranan. depende na nato unsaon pagsabot.

Whoever he is, and whatever he did, it should not be made a mockery in social network sites. But this should have been addressed accordingly and directly.

Network bashing of this man is on the grounds of libel. He cannot even defend himself.
