this predictable filipino life is just as american. i mean, aren't credit cards gateways to debts?
yes they are, isles. the phenomenon that pinoys back in the fatherland have to endure in order to survive is the same for the americans here. trust me, not all americans are "rich", a lot of them have to work hard, and i mean work really hard to survive in this country.
i'm talking about some people who work 6 days a week, and even do side jobs just in order to make the bills on time. dili gajod tinuod nga kai naa ang tawo diri immediately datu na sila. dili intawn. there are americans who are without jobs because of the economy. it is estimated that 8% of the american population are without jobs. that's some 24-25 million people, out of the 310 million american population.
poverty is a universal phenomenon, and so is the need to work to survive. be it in zimbabwe, india, philippines, or even Sweden. the most important thing is for us not to hold bias towards those who are in poverty, or suffering from poverty. kai luoy baya intawn ang mga tawo nga gi affektahan sa aning situwasyon.
