Tokyo man admits slaying wife, baby

Police arrested a man Thursday in western Tokyo when he turned himself in saying he killed his wife and baby boy.
Masayoshi Nagano, a 43-year-old driver of Seibu Bus Co., showed Thursday morning up at a police box in Higashikurume and said he had killed his family at his apartment two days earlier. Officers who rushed to the apartment found the bodies of his 33-year-old Filipino wife, Crisanta Lopez, and their 7-month-old son, Naomasa, in the living room.
Police plan to have autopsies done to determine the cause of their deaths. The wife reportedly had a head wound.
Nagano has told investigators that he had been troubled by the baby's crying as well as his lack of confidence in his job performance, police officials said.
He also told police that he tried in vain to kill himself after killing his family. Police have found evidence that he attempted to hang himself at the apartment, the officials said.
