1. Money Brings Peace of Mind
Some call it financial freedom – but for me, I call it peace of mind. That’s basically what financial freedom can do. Imagine this:
You are somewhere in the Caribbean with your family on a vacation sitting gladly in a hammock. Worry free about all the expenses – especially the para-glide your sons wants and the spa massage you wife asks – because you have more than enough. You open your laptop to update and see how smooth the business is running because you have a fully trusted team working for you. Then you sell your stocks and shares here and there. Then check on the FB pictures your father uploaded while on their Pilgrimage to Holy Land. Your then wired Php 150,000 – 100k to your best friend who asked you as his investor in his newly opened business and 50k to your cousin who got in an accident. And then you close your laptop, sip the coconut juice, and gladly read the Gratitude Card of the 4 students who just graduated college being your scholars.
Well, I guess this is enough reason why you should be rich!
2. Money can Help You Reach Your Dreams
All of us have dreams.
Young or old, we all have one!
The personal dreams, the mansion, the car, the business, the big investments, the renovated chapel, the eye surgery for your mother, the best university for your kids, the trip around the world, or even just a simple TV.
This reminds me of the husband of my manager before. He has this huge home theater at their house, it he has this enormous collections of DVD’s. When I was there, I was kidding around, “Can I borrow a DVD? I brought my library card!â€
Then we learned that when his husband was still a kid, he used to climb on top of their roof at night just to watch TV through their neighbor’s window.
3. Money Can Help Build Great Relationships
How can you have a good relationship when you quarrel every night with your spouse about the debts and the bills?
Your daughter is upset because you can’t buy her that silly white dress for her graduation.
Your eldest must stop studying for a year.
You can’t go back to your home town because you owe money to 98% of the population there.
You don’t want your ageing parents to stay with you because you do not have enough to support them aside from your family.
Then comes the voice that haunts you, “If only… I have money.â€
4. Money Can Make You Live Life in World Class
Okay, this is too cliché but this cuts right through the point.
We only have one shot at life – only one life to live – and there’s no reason to live it “ordinarilyâ€! If you can live it world class -and there’s just tons of opportunity to live like one – why not live one?
World class experience.
World class food.
World class travel.
World class businesses.
World class life.
5. Money Can Help People
How many times have you said “not now†from one relative of yours asking for support, “Our youngest is in the hospital right now. Even a 500 would do.�
How many times have you said “Oh, don’t worry, I’ll just contact you†to a friend who’s willing to borrow money at 15% interest for the tuition fee and you won’t really bother to call back?
How many times have you said “Next year, I will support you†to representatives of the local charities?
How many times have you shooed away kids who are caroling during Christmas?
Well, I did, countless times.
And it hurt.
But I promise myself, I will never do that again.
6. Money Can Bless the World
Why just help only one when you can help 2 or 3 or 4 or 5?
Why just help students finish schooling when you can let them borrow investments for their businesses?
Your personal success story will surely bless people, but why just share it to one or to a group when you can write a book about it and deliver your message to more people?
Why just help one community with your medical mission when you can help more and even those farther and needs more medical attention?
You know you are a great cook, and you are very much willing to share your talent, but why just pass on the skill to one apprentice when you can build a school?
Money enlarges your territory, and when you enlarge yours you will have a bigger scope and bigger opportunity to bless more people.
7.Because God Wants You to be Rich
Let me end with this simple yet powerful idea through these verses:
This is God’s plan for you…
For I know the plans I have for you,†declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
And yes, God wants you to enjoy your wealth too…
If God gives a man wealth and property and lets him enjoy them, he should be grateful and enjoy what he has worked for. It is a gift from God. – Ecclesiastes 5:19
And in my own words,
“If You believe that Your Father in heaven is rich beyond imagination, remember that you are His child, and if your Father is rich. So are you.â€
