Ate Ging, Swine Flu is the same thing as Type A influenza, it is just a subtype H1N1, the meaning of subtypes is: mutative types.
Patients and the general population are recommended to get their annual flu shots because viral strains mutate year after year, as a response to host defenses and anti-viral drugs that are in use.
I would suggest that you get the Swine Flu vaccination, especially in endemic areas (farm land, swine farms, immigrant population regions). The reason why we recommend it is because the H1N1 viral strain is resistant to ribavirin and rimantidine treatment (the two are the first class anti-virals given to patients).
However, do note that H1N1 viral strain is susceptible to Oseltamivir, Zanamivir and Interferon Alpha as well as Gangcyclovir and other high yield anti-virals.

There is nothing wrong in preventative care (including prophylaxis; vaccination). Unless a patient is already immunocompromised (meaning if a patient has a present weak immune system, then vaccination is contraindicated).
I hope that helped.
