Hi Folks!

Long time no see. I used to take care of my in-laws. My father in-law died 2 years ago, and now my mother in-law is dying. She is 87 years old and presently in home for the aged. She refuse to eat and medications are stopped. She is surviving only on intravenus fluids.
She is a non-practicing protestant, I keep on praying to St Joseph and have some mass request on her behalf.
I want to hear from you, what should I could do to give her spiritual assistance?

she looks very emaciated now, this is her last picture taken at home last Christmas , with my children Chris , Mayumi and my sister in-law behind.

Hello and Good Morning Manay,

I hope that your Christmas Holiday was filled with peace and blessings, Manay! It's good to have you back here, and thank you for sharing with us the present circumstance of your mother in law. In this time of her life, depression is very common for elderly people, and the manifestation is the refusal of treatment and eating necessary foods. I feel your pain, Manay, and I will include your mother in law in my prayers today in Holy Mass. Manay, in this time of her life, she needs spiritual food. I would suggest you pray for her during your visits to Church and include her name in your supplications to the Heart of Divine Mercy, who is ever merciful.

When you visit her next time, say this prayer while you are sitting next to her:

Psalm 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his nameâ€™s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Be strong Manay, ask the Lord Thy God to forgive your mother in law for all of her sins, and pray that she may have the grace of a peaceful death in peace with Our Lord Jesus Christ. I will mention you and your mother in law and the rest of y our family in my prayers tonight in Evening Mass. May God Bless You!

Manay, today, offer this prayer to the HEART OF DIVINE MERCY, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST:

O merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I beseech You, by the agony of Your Most Sacred Heart and by the sorrows of Your Immaculate Mother, wash clean in Your Blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their final agony, but especially those on their way to eternal damnation and who are to die this day. Heart of Jesus who suffered death's agony, I beg You have mercy on these poor souls. Amen.

Hallo Ondoy Bran, salamat . You overwhelmed me with your thoughtfulness. I would like to be with her but she is always skeptic with my being a catholic. She was even not interested that I gave her a small cross. Angay bitaw ni siya abatan ug ampo kay mao man jud ang atong tinu-ohan. Pero kon dili siya motoo unsa man ang akong mahimo. I pray for her everyday, she is a loving grandma to my kids. Have a blessed Sunday to you and your loved ones.

Hello Manay,

you can read to her the book of Psalms, then proceed to the gospels of Jesus Christ. Your mother in law will be comforted if she has the assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ which is by faith alone, in Christ alone, and by grace alone.

Dear Manay,

Continue to pray for her , for there is no describing the effect of a powerful prayer. All you can do is pray for your mother in law, Helga, and be at peace with her during this time of her life. Mo ampo lagi ta so pasaylo-an siya . Continue to pray for her, Manay Tess, and just be for her during this final stage of her life. May God Bless you and your family during this time. I will keep Helga in my prayers.
