Migration Pattern

This topic is to account the places we happened to live for more than 6 months and a brief story why.
......................

To start with, I was born in Cortes, Bohol, left my parents when I was 13 and went to Kidapawan, Cotabato to study high school under my relatives’ guardianship.  Then went to Kabacan, Cotabato to study college, lived in General Santos City for my first job, then lived in Davao City for my second job. I went to Cambodia as Consultant for South-South Security Program, stayed in Manila for so long (of course with the job), then United States because of marriage.  

Hoping to retire and live in Bohol someday (still a long way to go ).

this is wonderful, but my story is really fascinating;

Grew up in Manila, spent 16 years, then to Guindulman finished senior high in SMA, 3 sems Rafael Palma College now UB, went to Davao City to look for greener pastures, pursued college studies in Ateneo de Davao for almost 6 years as working student. worked part time as surveyor in Consumer Pulse now Asia Pulse, this has given me the chance to tour the whole of Mindanao up to Jolo.
Married a German penpal, divorced after 2 years, anew partner with 2 kids, partner found a younger woman, now solo and happy, might go back as well to Bohol to spend the rest of my days since I have a small house in Booy Tagbilaran City.
I´m very much contented and at peace with myself,my daughter finished her studies and a younger son is still a high school student.

here's mine:

born in pagadian, zambo sur but grew up in tagbilaran and baclayon until high school. i went to cebu for university and managed to finished it just in 4 years. worked in cebu, makati, ozamis and palawan in various jobs who always have a two year expiration period (my choice of course). i was a high school teacher, a med rep and biologist-manager in my philippine life.

i went back to cebu to work in my alma mater and pursue post-grad studies. i thought i would settle there and become a researcher or teacher but then i found my wife, a fellow bol-anon.

i swore then that i will not migrate out of the country to find work, only to pursue post-grad studies. but i ate those words. now i am in the UK, for a long time perhaps because i still have little and quite delicate children (asthma and multiple allergies). i would love to retire in bohol. my wife and i are still arguing where. i grew up in the coast and city while she, in the 'interior'. if we win the lottery, we might live in both :)

Interesting...

MY STORY:

I was born in Manila in 1960 (Mary Child's Hospital in Sampaloc) while my parents were living in Obando, Bulacan. Went to 2 kindergarten school years to... one in Marulas, Valenzuela, Bulacan and the other in Sampaloc again.

Moved to Catigbian in 1966, my father's hometown, and studied Grades 1 & 2 under my grandma and my aunt, who were both school teachers.

Moved again to Tagbilaran in 1968 and finished elementary at Cogon Elementary School; 4 years of High School at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) in Taloto; then another 4 years of Philosopy Minor in English at the same school til I graduated in 1980.

In 1980 I decided to stay away from the seminary training and end up working in San Jose Resettlement Area in Carmona, Cavite; took up short residences in Samal, Bataan and Cubao, Quezon City.

From 1981-1985 I decided to pursue my seminary studies at St. Augustine Major Seminary and Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay City... and was ordained a deacon on my third year in theology and as a priest even when I was still a student at DWS in 1984.

After ordination, I was sent by then Bishop of Tagbilaran (now Archbishop of Capiz, Onecimo Gordoncillo) to Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija from 1985-1986.

From 1986-today (almost 24 years now) I lived in the Metro New Orleans Area and now also a member of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The last 9 years as pastor (kura paroko) of St. Genevieve Church in Slidell, Louisiana.

And this is my migration story...  ;)

Born in Cebu City. The first 5 years of my life was spent in Valencia and Tagbilaran. At age 5, left for the United States.

To this day, I still have fond memories of my early childhood in Bohol.

The most common bird migration pattern in the northern hemisphere is to fly north in the summer to breed in the say they have found dinosaur tracks on the Arabian Peninsula, a discovery they say may shed more light on where dinosaurs lived, their migration patterns and how they evolved they way they did....
