Police entered the burnt-out home of a missing millionaire Christopher Foster for the first time today.
Mr Foster, his wife Jill and 15-year-old daughter Kirstie have not been seen since their country estate was gutted by a suspected arson attack shortly before 5am on Tuesday.
Police searched parts of Osbaston House in Maesbrook, near Oswestry, Shropshire, today but there was no sign of the family, who are feared to have died in the blaze.
It has emerged that Mr Foster had huge £2 million debts and was about to lose his dream mansion before it burnt to the ground.
The 50-year-old, who police fear may have killed his wife and teenage daughter then torched the £1.2million house, owed more than £1million to creditors of his failed firm and £800,000 in tax.
West Mercia Police Superintendent Gary Higgins said: "We have completed a cursory search of the annexe part of the main building, which is relatively intact following the fire.
