korek, ang 20k-30k salaray sa mayor kulang lang na sa mga solicitation from the people. kahibaw ang mga atwo nga naa kay kuwrta gikurakot from the govenrment, so, ok lang ni la mangayo og kuwarta.

yes, our government needs some reforms....there are misleading factors ngano there are some segment in the society nga gusto gyod magpolitiko though gamay ra ang sueldo... it is fallacy nga mo ingon nga moserve sa mga tawo...

having a position in the government equates power.... and power could be translated to everything beyond any amount...

Hi Bulak..

Sa ako na gikaingon with Internet, distance is no longer a problem.

If we are serious in our endeavour to help Bohol. we can do it. together.
We can start here in TB and later let's meet.
Di ba si Rizal nianha man sa Europe ug diha magsulat as iyang mga nobela? A pen is mightier than a sword daw.

I hope Junayag or Doy Lorenzo can make a better plan for a TB reunion in Europe or USA.
We need a strong leader with their caliber. ;)

Cheers!

Results of the recent election have made me sorrowful lately.
2. A 21-year-old kid has just been elected Mayor in Inabanga, not because of this kid's exemplary abilities and talents, but because this kid belongs to the incumbent power.

Uh-oh.. i think I know this kid. ategingah, remember my Panglao escapade with mocha and some some? hahaha

I am not going to argue with you Mike on this guy, not because its true that he is 21.

What i am trying to raise is the fact that there are l lot, and i can name names here of older and supposedly much more brilliant leaders who get elected but unluckilly got the brains bigger than a pea.

And yes, vote buying.

Here, if you do not buy votes, even if your campaign manager is a Christ Crucified or Benedict in his full regalia, or you are a living Mother Theresa, trust me you could pray you'd get a hundred votes. Because honestly, i doubt it.

And even if you are a no-brainer with a wad of bills, you do not really need to have college degrees to assume power.

Reality says money is the root of it all.

reflecting on these made me realize if there is in any degree hope in social and political development of Bohol.  When I worked for VM Montes, we fostered change in the City Hall.  We worked hand in hand with the civil society and this was institutionalized through ordinance.  The Childrens Code,  Early Childhood Development, Gender Code, and other development codes were not seen by the people.  Who thinks of a good leader when ones stomach is empty anyway?
Yes, everything is sold and can be bought in the Philippines and in Bohol, including souls.

The last sentence is so negative inday Ayessa but not conclusive.
We will not give up our hope. Rev Matin Luther King (1904-1974), dreamed his dream and it came true.  The are lots of work to do and we are in the process of imitating his dream of a flourishing province of  Bohol.

puwera lang sa maayo, kinsa kaha ang dili mudawat ug uwan uwan sa Pilipinas labina sa Bohol?  Maningil man gani nang uban.

Ayessa,

seguro, the bettern question is kinsa kaha ang manghatag nga wa na magdahum pa nga mangawat para ipuli sa iyang gihatag.

That is the kind of Boholano politician that wed like to start the revolution with.

nindot unta if mao ni.. if mao ang view sa whole politicians.. pero saon taman. murag they treat money spent on election as an investment.
