Happy Ending or Sad Ending?
« on: October 13, 2010, 11:59:40 PM »
What do you like: a movie with a happy ending or with a sad ending?

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Ganahan kog way klaro ang estorya, yabag ang ending, ug balikwaot ang moral compass. Offhand, films like Natural Born Killers and Pulp Fiction come to mind.

Sorry, maybe it's just because unlike you, Ms. Isle, with your mercurial biorhythm calibrated by the antics of your cats and dogs and banana republic with their litter and all, I live an uninteresting, well-rehearsed predictable life inside my time capsule...

such biorhythmic taste can be learned and one's predictable life can achieve unpredictability simply by not predicting.  learn to love cats and dogs and your wife as well, and clean their litter, most especially the litter of your wife.  then shall your taste of movie endings veer away from stories that don't even have endings, much less endings that cannot, and never will, justify the means.

Hmm. It's not the lack of unpredictability that I rue, but my inability to even fool myself into believing that a fortuitous encounter with the unfamiliar will make me wish to join the dance of life once again.

rue the sun and moon, never one's self.  rather, you must always keep close to your heart the grace of youth when the unfamiliar always came as a friend and you welcomed it with a dance of the fortuitous name of limbo rock.  only a zombie, my friend, will refuse the predictable fall of this dance of fools. ;D
