Hi Guys,

I will be gone for a week for Medical School Orientation. I'll be back by next week; and hopefully I can find a nice apartment while I'm away.

I hope you can find a nice place too that is conducive sa imong pag tuon...let me know ug kinahanglan ka ug plato ug kutsara para dili na ka mo palit...dont spend too much money Dodong kay mahal kaajo ang libro, so dont hesitate ug naa kay gikinahanglan ha? as long as dili tuition... ;D

My flight leaves tonight at 7:40 PM.

My sister and I are both leaving; as she will be helping me to go 'house-hunting' lol.

I am nervous to see my fellow medical students who will be there during orientation. Our first year's class is about 70 students.

Words that can describe my feelings right now are:

Anxious
Scared
Excited
Needing-prayer
Nostalgic-already

I wonder if the physicians felt this way when they first started their medical school orientation.

I will be part of 70 very competitive classmates. Of the 70, I am admitted into the dual Ph.D/M.D program.

So I feel very anxious and scared right now.

God please calm me. God please strengthen me. For I call unto you, only. My Strength. My Only Hope.
This I pray, through our Lord, Christ Jesus.

Amen.

I just read this today, Mike. :)

I thank all of you for your kind words and your prayers.

I was calm during orientation, well at least I tried to retain some semblance of stern reticence. lol.

I was elated kaayo to meet the acquaintance with the Dean of Students as well as the Director of Basic Sciences, the professors of Neuroanatomy, Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Medical Histology and Medical Legal Ethics. Very to the point ilang answers to my questions. It gave me a sense of relief.

I met 2nd year medical students, the ones that I owe alot of thanks for helping me get a nice and affordable apartment close to the medical campus is AJ, Jay, Dave, Iris, Ann. Their words were comforting, as well as encouraging. Additionally, they allowed me to follow them during their anatomy lab.

I'm excited because apparently my class will be receiving 10 new bodies (cadavers) that we will be preparing.

I felt small compared to some of my many contemporaries; many of whom have their Masters, a degree in Physical Therapy, some even have their Ph.Ds already.

One can feel the difference; my peers are a lot more serious as compared to undergraduate college.

This is a view of my future apartment; which is a good 10-15 minute bike ride from the medical campus.

The cost of rent is very nice; its a one bedroom apartment. One thing that I liked was that most of my hall mates are medical students. My friend AJ, a 2nd year medical student, will be living down the hall from me.


View of the living room area; the land lord provides furniture, fridge, tv, etc. All included in the monthly due.


Another view of the fridge; note that the person living in this apartment is a 4th year medical student. She's moving out.

Shower curtains


Bathroom; toilet. Cool looking toilet seat, me-thinks. lol.


Bedroom area.


I personally like it. Perhaps I'll have to change the curtains to something more befitting of my color interest; per se navy blue. My home for the next 4 years, lol.

Salamat kaayo, Ate Lee.

All my prayers were answered, and my high anxiety during the flight and upon arrival diminished.

I found strength; the right words came out of my mouth, and all went well. Thanks be to God.

God allowed me to meet good friends who showed me around the town, the campus, and most of all introduced me to my landlord. For a safe flight, and a safe flight back home.

All Glory and Praise goes to the Lord, the Most High.
