Congressional Republicans on Sunday predicted a doomsday scenario of crushing debt and eventual federal bankruptcy if President Barack Obama's massive spending blueprint wins passage.

But a White House adviser dismissed the negative assessments, saying she is "incredibly confident" that the president's policies will "do the job" for the economy.

In a TV interview, Obama himself laughed when discussing the dire state of parts of the economy — and ascribed his laughter to "gallows humor."

White House Council of Economic Advisers chairwoman Christina Romer insisted that the nation's flailing economy will be rebounding by 2010.

IMF predicted yesterday that the global crisis will stay until 2010,so brace ourselves for the crisis..

Di ba kaha palakaw ra ni sa media ang global crisis.Murag wala may na change sa economy lagi ug sa spending sa mga tawo.I was in Philippines last january unya permi man puno ang mall,daghan nagpatukod ug dagko nga balay so dili ko motuo naay global crisis.
Even our area here in Central Illinois same as usual man gihapon.Ang spending sa mga tawo wala may nausob.wala sad ko kadungog naay na lay off or na foreclose nga balay diri sa among community.Maybe we are just lucky here in midwest  nga siguro wala pa maabot ang effecto diri.

I think you are just lucky there, Quel, kay dire, left and right and bank-owned houses and state workers being furloughed.  Dire sa mga restaurants, hinay na kaayo pod ug daghan kaayo stores na close.

What we are experiencing is a natural flow in economics. The same happened in 1991 when the US economy was shaking Desert Storm in 1991. After the election of President Clinton in 1992, the US economy slowly grew and picked up momentum.

Wallstreet predicts that by the beginning of the 1st quarter in 2010, the US economy will pick up and bounce back again.

We are a capitalist economy, a market economy. What is harming us is the Liberal news media that is focusing too much on the negatives and hamping and dissauding buyers and investors. The US economy will pick up; the US economy is a critical player and the keystone in the Global Economy. The world is in economic crisis, not just the US.

Remember, everything is a cycle. Ups and downs. Let us not underestimate the power of the American Economy and the Middle Class.

Ate Belle, Rush Limbaugh does not speak for all Republicans. Rush Limbaugh is an ultra right winger. He is in the far far right.

There are moderate republicans who even voted for Obama.

I am a Republican who voted for Obama. Because I believe in his message of Change. and posterity. I hope I made the right decision.

does this mean that the sleeping giant is already awaken and stretching his muscle to be the future super power both ecomically and militarily?

jobs from the US are migrating to the asia pacific region and mainly in china coz of huge demand due to their population and cheap labor. eroding jobs in the US that loosing thousands of jobs everyday. you may not know it the tshirt and underwear you wear is made in china or thailand or philippines.

is this a sign of US downfall? well its embedded in human history about rise and fall of empires, if this will happen in the near future, pipol in the US should be ready and face reality or if you pretend and hard headed to accept reality then it will be a problem and would accelerate the worsening situation.

wheres morality in the land of God believers? AIG gives bunoses to their employees from hungry jobless tax payers money? a verbal war ensued first before AIG wake up and return those hard eardned money to the govt.!

ohhhh my goodness! whatta shame and this pipol are well educated.  i think this american money oriented culture is far more bitter than corruption scandals here.
