Are you really having a change of heart, Bro Enz? Have you been touched that deeply by Raquel's heartfelt request, i.e., to pray for Angelo Reyes' soul and all the souls in purgatory? If so, then in your heart you don't really believe AR was assigned/chastised to the fires of hell, do you? Then, stay that way (do not be stubborn). We need to dispel your fear: nobody ever said that suicide or self-muder is morally right but for reasons beyond our human understanding (absolute kind) there are people who still commit such. And yet, for those who do, leave the judgment to God who is God and who is the JUDGE, not us, you or anybody else. If you can maintain such humility and self-sacrifice (self-emptying vs your deceptive feeling), people might stop barraging you with "piko," "lansang," "maso," "martilyo," "kutsilyo," "baki nga pistolero," "catmandu samurai" etc.
My change of heart was because of the constancy of Raquel's response. Such merciful request and openness to share her own feelings and personal experiences with death, must, have come not from her but through the Holy Spirit. I was touched in the beginning with her first response to me. The last one was powerful enough to make me consider with tears.
Please understand , Fr. Roel the basis for my reasoning and the necessity in my sharing it. Talking over it. As a Catholic, we all find things we agree or disagree with in the Church. Throughout the length of this discussion, I realize that there are some things that requires Church interpretation. And requires the wisdom of the Church amongst its fold. So with this last testament, I will relinquish all that I said earlier about condemnation of the soul. You are right, it is not ours to condemn. That belongs to God alone, who is Judge, Jury and Prosecutor all into one.
I will pray for the soul of Angelo Reyes before I go to bed tonight. May God be merciful to the souls in Purgatory.
Truly,
Lorenz
