Update of this news story:
The Isabela provincial police, in coordination with the Caloocan City police, has arrested the gunman in the killing of Brgy. Councilman Reynaldo Dagsa of Caloocan City.
Chief Supt. Francisco Villaroman, Region 2 police regional director, said suspect Arnel Buenaflor, 26, was arrested at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday in Brgy. Kalabasa, Aurora, Isabela where he went to hide together with his live-in partner Loraine Castro.
Buenaflor was nabbed in a boarding house still using his cap which he wore at the time he shot the victim. Police said the cap and his tattoo on his right arm matched the gunman in the killing.
Villaroman said the operation was a result of a three-day intelligence operation obtained from the community based support system of Isabela Police Office.
Dagsa was taking a picture of his wife, daughter and mother-in-law in front of his house in Caloocan City just after the New Year's Eve revelry when the suspect shot him.
Villaroman said the suspect and his live-in partner will be brought to Caloocan police for proper filing of a murder case.
Based on the investigation of Caloocan police, Buenaflor was allegedly involved in a robbery and car theft in Central Luzon, together with his two other companions in the killing. Arrested earlier were Michael Rollon and Frederick Sales. (PNA)
