Beware of Cellphone Load Scam in the Philippines Using OFW Relatives
First, you will receive a text, informing you that she/he is using a new Roaming Number. And then you would ask: "sino to" or "who is this?" The normal answer: "Yong pinakaclose mo na relative abroad." The text scam normally starts with this kind of message: "Merry Christmas, miss ko na kayo diyan. Kumusta na po kayo."
Second, he/she will not mention your name or his/her name. This kind of text is sent in mass.
Third, if you engage in texting with this person, he/she would then allege that she/he is in need of a load "kasi mahirap makahanap ng load dito."
Fourth, if you ask him/her who your name is, this scammer cannot answer, unless, initially, you gave your name to him/her. He/she will not also provide his/her name as this will expose the scam as you will find out that you don't have that relative's name who is working as an OFW.
Six, when you call that number, it cannot be contacted.
One scammer is using this number: 0920-749-5242.
Please share this info on Facebook or forward in email.
Let us expose this scammer who is taking advantage of the Christmas Season.
